- Andrew,
-
- I tried to order a Yupiteru MVT7100 based on the ACE Commun-
- ications ad on page 11 of the November Popular Communications, shown
- at $599. "Debbie" at ACE told me that they weren't in stock because
- a whole container load had "disappeared in transit". After mulling
- this over for a few days and becoming increasingly uneasy, I called
- and cancelled the order. I have since learned that they cannot sell
- that scanner legally in the US. I got mine from Javiation. In the
- same issue on page 80 is another ACE ad showing both the Yupiteru
- MVT8000 and MVT7000 for $399 each.

- Oooops! The problem you are having has to do with all the things
- Windows thinks it needs to be involved in, even though you are totally
- unaware of all the activity... after all, it is Bill, and it is M/S
- under neath all that...
-
- When you select a DOS prompt from Windows, all the garbage gets hauled

- housekeeping... and doesn't care that YOU want to play with
- SuperMorse.
- The same is true of many other TIME dependent programs that simply will
- NOT work under windows and require the *full* "attention" of the
- machine...like SuperMorse.
-
- It is a problem with WINDOWS and NOT with SuperMorse. When you want to
- do code practice, just quit windows and go for it... if that is too
- much trouble, get one of those wimpy plug and play not problem to use
- with built in graphics interface (Mac) and enjoy life as a user... ;^)

- For about $6.00 you can buy the ARRL Repeater Directory. The
- same directory that is currently being whined about. In it you will
- find reapeters for the whole U.S.. Also every band is covered
- separatly. Plus the European (Region 1) VHF/UHF band plans are in

-
- You can pick up this directory in any ham store, or buy it
